Basketball Recap: Friday's Win Is West Orange's Tenth in Last 12 Outings

There's no place like home for West Orange, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 41-32 victory over the Immaculate Conception Lions on Friday. This was a revenge game for the Mountaineers: when they faced off against the Lions back in January, they had to take a 42-41 defeat.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Orange to victory, but perhaps none more so than Anaya Karriem, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 18 rebounds. Karriem has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more boards the last 12 times she's played. Kyley Gary-Grayson was another key player, putting up 11 points.

West Orange is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.5 points over those games. As for Immaculate Conception, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Orange won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against West Essex at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Immaculate Conception, they will host Glen Ridge at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
