Softball Recap: Westside Comes Up Short

Acorn hit Westside with a five-run seventh inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Rebels lost 16-9 to the Tigers. The Rebels have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Ayla Highfill was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Mackenzie Cato also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Westside's record is now 2-16-1. As for Acorn, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 5-6 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westside will challenge Mountainburg at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Dragons will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for Acorn, they will face off against Cossatot River at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
