Baseball Recap: Glenbrook South Titans vs. New Trier Trevians
Glenbrook South had lost three straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 8-15 to make it four. They lost 14-5 to the New Trier Trevians. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Trevians this season, with their most recent defeat being a 4-3 loss on Tuesday.
As for New Trier, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5-1 record this season. Considering they have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
For New Trier's part, Jackie Ryder looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Ryder has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Trey Meyers was incredible, getting on base in all six of his plate appearances with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted over his last 11 matchups. Mason Bloom was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Glenbrook South will face off against Hersey at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for New Trier, they will challenge Niles West at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
