Softball Recap: Jonesboro Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Conway, Jonesboro was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top against the West Memphis Blue Devils by a score of 7-2. The Hurricane haven't had any issues with the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Harper Harris and Braylynn Calloway did most of the damage at the plate: Harris went 3-for-4 with four RBI and one run, while Calloway went 2-for-3 with three runs and one double. Those four RBI gave Harris a new career-high. Alayiah Searcy also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Jonesboro now has a winning record of 9-8. As for West Memphis, their record is now 5-15.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jonesboro will challenge North Little Rock at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hurricane's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Charging Wildcats have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for West Memphis, they will face off against Marion at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
