5A District 2 recap September 4, 2013

Sandia took down West Mesa 50-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Manzano and Volcano Vista played the closest game in 5A District 2 this week, with Manzano eventually emerging with a 17-14 victory. Corey Morrow ran for 102 yards and caught 3 passes for 33 yards during the win.

The Monarchs' offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Angel Gonzales threw for 120 yards and Josh Alvarez had 43 yards receiving. Charles Countee helped Manzano's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 30 yards.
