Baseball Recap: Southern Nash Takes a Loss

Southern Nash was the 18-6 winner over Roanoke Rapids when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Southern Nash Firebirds fell 9-5 to the Roanoke Rapids Yellowjackets on Tuesday.

Southern Nash saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Faison Overby, who scored a run while going 1-for-1. The dominant performance also gave Overby a new career-high in RBI (two). Maddox Deans also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.

Southern Nash's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Roanoke Rapids, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Roanoke Rapids beat Southern Nash by a score of 13-6 on Thursday.
