Basketball Game Preview: Central Academy Cougars vs. West Stanly Colts

Central Academy hasn't had much luck against West Stanly recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Central Academy Cougars will be home for the holidays to greet the West Stanly Colts at 6:00 p.m.

Central Academy is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 32nd straight game dating back to last season on Tuesday. They had to suffer through a 62-14 loss at the hands of Forest Hills. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 499th, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 169th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask West Stanly). They strolled past South Stanly with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 63-47.

Central Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-10. As for West Stanly, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Central Academy took a serious blow against West Stanly in their previous meeting back in January, falling 69-25. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Central Academy was down 34-9.
