Volleyball Recap: Greenfield-Central Cougars vs. Indianapolis Scecina Memorial Crusaders

Greenfield-Central unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Indianapolis Scecina Memorial Crusaders by a score of 3-2 on Monday. While the Cougars didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Crusaders 25-20 in the first set.

Greenfield-Central wouldn't go down easily and took Indianapolis Scecina Memorial into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking seven-point loss. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 20-25, 25-22, 21-25, 25-23, 15-8.

Olivia Reeves paced Greenfield-Central's offense, picking up 13 kills. Reeves got some help from Mia Reed and her 30 assists. Alex Muegge and Tay Walker kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with four aces apiece.
