Volleyball Recap: Birchwood Takes a Loss

Birchwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the New Auburn Trojans, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

Birchwood took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-12, 25-15.

Camryn Ewert paced Birchwood's offense, picking up four kills. Ewert got some help from Alyiah Glaze and her six assists.

Birchwood's loss dropped their record down to 0-17. As for New Auburn, their win was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-5.

Birchwood didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Winter on the 9th. As for New Auburn, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Bruce on the 9th.
