Basketball Recap: Lancaster's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Lancaster can finally bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They came out on top against the Newbury Park Panthers by a score of 69-58.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lancaster to victory, but perhaps none more so than Shondra Henderson, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 18 points in addition to six assists and four steals. Those four steals gave Henderson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Alvaro Martinez, who went 8 for 16 on his way to 19 points and three steals.

Lancaster's win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Newbury Park, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.

Lancaster will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Paraclete at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2025. As for Newbury Park, they and Fillmore will face off at 3:40 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played.
