Softball Recap: St. Paul Central Extends Winning Streak to Four

St. Paul Central strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Edison Tommies a 15-0 shutout.

Jonny LeRoux and Ellen Hendricks made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, LeRoux struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Hendricks tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. At the plate, LeRoux scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3, while Hendricks scored three runs and stole six bases while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Noe Christensen was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing six bases while going 3-for-3. Christensen is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Kroetsch, who scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

St. Paul Central's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Edison, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coming up, St. Paul Central will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Washington Tech at 4:00 p.m. As for Edison, they will head out to take on Brooklyn Center at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
