Basketball Recap: Loogootee's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak at Home

Springs Valley came into Saturday's match looking for another win against Loogootee, but Madison Waggner wouldn't allow it. The Loogootee Lions came out on top against the Springs Valley Blackhawks by a score of 41-34 on Saturday thanks in part to Waggner, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. She is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games.

Loogootee's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-7. As for Springs Valley, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Loogootee will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Clay City at 1:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025. Loogootee is facing Clay City at the right time seeing as Clay City is stuck on a four-game losing streak. Springs Valley and Martinsville will round out the year against one another at at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. Springs Valley will also cruise into their next contest with the timing on their side: Martinsville will have lost five straight heading into Friday's game.
