Baseball Recap: Branham Takes a Loss

Branham and Santa Clara squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Branham had to settle for second. They took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Santa Clara. Branham was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Santa Clara apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.

Branham saw nine different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabe Migues, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run. Another was Ethan Vietvu, who got on base in four of his six plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Branham's loss dropped their record down to 14-11. As for Santa Clara, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 20 of their last 21 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-3 record this season.

Branham does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Santa Clara, they will face off against St. Francis on Friday. The last three games the Sharks have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
