Softball Recap: Columbia Montour Vo-Tech Rams vs. Muncy Indians
Columbia Montour Vo-Tech had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 2-13 to make it four. They came up short against the Muncy Indians, falling 16-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Indians this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 20-4 on Friday.
As for Muncy, their record is now 3-5. The high-scoring effort was just what they needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
For Muncy's part, Chevelle Bauman made a splash while hitting and pitching. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Bauman has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Leah Vest, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jailyn Baker, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs.
