Basketball Recap: Eagle Mountain Comes Up Short

After flying high against Springtown last Tuesday, Eagle Mountain came back down to earth. The Eagle Mountain Knights took a 69-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Burkburnett Bulldogs on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 455th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 106th).

Eagle Mountain has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-14 record this season. As for Burkburnett, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 25-6.

Looking ahead, Eagle Mountain will be playing at home against Lake Worth at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Eagle Mountain is facing Lake Worth at the right time seeing as Lake Worth is stuck on a 13-game losing streak. As for Burkburnett, they will head out on the road to take on Springtown at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Burkburnett knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 16 contests -- so hopefully Springtown likes a good challenge.
