Football Recap: Tuscola Takes a Loss

Tuscola had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped down to 4-5 to make it four. They were outmatched by the Brevard Blue Devils and fell 36-3. The Mountaineers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-0.

When it comes to explaining why Tuscola lost, don't look at Sam Trantham. Despite the final result, he rushed for 192 yards while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Trantham has become a key player for the Mountaineers: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least 100 rushing yards, but 1-4 otherwise.

As for Brevard, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 9-0. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 14.4 points on average this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Brevard to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ty Griffin, who picked up 122 receiving yards and one TD. Another player making a difference was Chrstian Conley, who threw for 139 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 81.8% of his passes.
