Basketball Game Preview: Liberty-Eylau Leopards vs. New Boston Lions

The Liberty-Eylau Leopards will venture away from home to square off against the New Boston Lions at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Liberty-Eylau has 24 straight wins, New Boston has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Liberty-Eylau will head into Friday's match hoping to keep the good times rolling: they proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 21) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Atlanta 63-60. Given the Leopards' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 139th, while the Rabbits are ranked 595th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, New Boston took a blow against Hooks on Friday, falling 62-24. The game marked the Lions' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

New Boston now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Liberty-Eylau, they pushed their record up to 23-0 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Liberty-Eylau and New Boston were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but Liberty-Eylau came up empty-handed after a 60-59 loss. Can Liberty-Eylau avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
