Volleyball Game Preview: Notre Dame Academy Eagles vs. Columbian Tornadoes

The Notre Dame Academy Eagles will venture away from home to challenge the Columbian Tornadoes at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Notre Dame Academy barely beat Central Catholic the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Eagles were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Fighting Irish on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

The win didn't come easy: Central Catholic scored at least 21 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-21, 25-22.

Notre Dame Academy can attribute much of their success to Kylie Lycourt, who had 11 digs and two aces, and Addy Foltz, who had five digs. That's the most digs Lycourt has posted since back in August.

They weren't the only good servers: Notre Dame Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. They are a perfect 3-0 when they serve at least ten aces.

Meanwhile, Columbian was able to grind out a solid victory over Ashland on Monday, taking the game 3-1. The win continues a trend for the Tornadoes in their matchups with the Arrows: they've now won four in a row.

Notre Dame Academy's record is now 4-19. As for Columbian, their record now sits at 17-7.
