Baseball Game Preview: Orem Tigers vs. Viewmont Vikings

The Orem Tigers will take on the Viewmont Vikings at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Orem and six for Viewmont dating back to last season.

Orem's tournament run continued when they took on Spanish Fork on Friday. The Tigers took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dons. The matchup marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Orem saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dalton Cox, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That RBI was Cox's first of the season.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Viewmont's offense. They lost 7-0 to Skyline on Friday.

Viewmont's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Orem, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

Everything went Orem's way against Viewmont in their previous meeting back in March of 2017, as Orem made off with a 6-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
