Basketball Recap: Elk Valley Christian Comes Up Short

Elk Valley Christian lost against Victory Baptist Academy back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Elk Valley Christian received a blow as they fell 39-22 to the Victory Baptist Academy Saints.

Victory Baptist Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaydan Mooney, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds. Mooney has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last four times she's played. Grace Ward was another key player, putting up ten points.

Elk Valley Christian's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Victory Baptist Academy, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Elk Valley Christian will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Greater Beckley Christian at 7:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. As for Victory Baptist Academy, they are taking a road trip to challenge Heritage Christian at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
