Basketball Game Preview: Robstown Cottonpickers vs. Jones Trojans

Robstown hasn't had much luck against Jones recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Robstown Cottonpickers will head out to face off against the Jones Trojans at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Robstown lost 56-36 to Ingleside on Tuesday.

Despite their loss, Robstown saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Erasmo Garza, who posted seven points and six steals, was perhaps the best of all. Garza is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least four every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cameron Dominguez, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 boards.

Meanwhile, Jones ended up a good deal behind Poth on Saturday and lost 63-47.

Robstown's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Jones, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-11.

Robstown was dealt a bruising 83-41 defeat at the hands of Jones in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Can Robstown avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
