Baseball Recap: Hattiesburg Finds Home Field Redemption Against Vicksburg

There's no place like home for Hattiesburg, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Sunday. They put the hurt on the Vicksburg Gators with a sharp 15-1 victory on Friday.

Tyler Weatherspoon was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. What's more, he also posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. Tyler Spencer was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Hattiesburg always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .679. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Vicksburg only posted an OBP of .471.

The win got Hattiesburg back to even at 1-1. As for Vicksburg, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Tigers challenge the Bobcats at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Vicksburg, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Humphreys County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
