Volleyball Recap: Wimberley Texans vs. Cuero Gobblers
Wimberley extended their postseason success on Thursday against Cuero. They beat the Cuero Gobblers by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 3-0. Winning may never get old, but the Texans sure are getting used to it with their tenth in a row.
Wimberley was especially dominant in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-13, 25-20.
Laney Hennessee paced Wimberley's offense, picking up 16 kills. Hennessee were helped by
Carson Peoples and
Skylar Herring, who contributed 17 assists each. Peoples also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with
Rhagen Masur, racking up two apiece.
Wimberley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 24 of their last 25 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 38-3 record this season. As for Cuero, their defeat dropped their record down to 31-16.
Wimberley is on the road again on Tuesday to play Sinton at 6:00 p.m. Cuero does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
