Baseball Recap: Eight Straight Home Victories for West Ranch

West Ranch entered their tilt with Saugus on Wednesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Centurions by a score of 4-0. The Wildcats have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Centurions, too.

The result came thanks to Hunter Manning's shutout, as he gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks. What's more, he gave up only zero earned runs, the fewest he's had since back in February.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Omar Gutierrez, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Mikey Murr, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

West Ranch pushed their record up to 9-5 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Saugus, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-5.

West Ranch will have a chance to go back-to-back against Saugus: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
