Basketball Recap: Lynden Christian Sets Scoring Season-High Against Lakewood

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lynden Christian). They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat the Lakewood Cougars 85-33. The Lyncs haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Despite the loss, Lakewood still got an impressive performance from Anna Perez, who posted nine points. Perez has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played.

Lynden Christian's victory bumped their record up to 16-3. As for Lakewood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-12.

Looking ahead, Lynden Christian will challenge Mt. Baker at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lynden Christian is facing Mt. Baker at the right time seeing as Mt. Baker is stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Lakewood, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Cougars challenge the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Burlington-Edison knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five matches -- so hopefully Lakewood likes a good challenge.
