Basketball Recap: Petoskey Comes Up Short

Petoskey has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They lost to the Elk Rapids Elks on the road by a 63-49 margin on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Northmen came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while the Elks are ranked 208th).

Petoskey's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Elk Rapids, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Petoskey will welcome St. Francis at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Elk Rapids, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Cheboygan at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
