Recap: Beech Buccaneers vs. Middle Tennessee Christian Cougars
Winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 13 to 1 on the offensive boards, a fact the Beech Buccaneers proved on Saturday. They walked away with a 52-41 victory over Middle Tennessee Christian.
Bailey Ford was her usual excellent self, scoring 16 points along with five steals. The contest was her fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Carson Sisk, who scored six points along with five rebounds.
Middle Tennessee Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ashley Rucker, who scored ten points along with six rebounds. Madison Graham was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Beech has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Middle Tennessee Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Beech and Clarksville will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 3rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Clarksville will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line. As for Middle Tennessee Christian, they will be playing at home against Providence Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Providence Christian Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Middle Tennessee Christian in Tennessee (Providence Christian Academy is ranked 33rd, while Middle Tennessee Christian is ranked 124th).
