Volleyball Recap: Worthington Christian Warriors vs. Tree of Life Christian Trojans

It was a good run, but Worthington Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Monday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tree of Life Christian Trojans. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2017.

Worthington Christian actually scored more points across those four sets (94-93), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 14-25, 28-26, 25-19, 26-24.

Tree of Life Christian can attribute much of their success to Mimi Cochran, who had six digs and two aces. That's the most aces Cochran has posted since back in August. Emma Molsberry was another key player, getting six digs and four aces.

Worthington Christian's loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5. As for Tree of Life Christian, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-4.

Worthington Christian will head out to take on Whitehall-Yearling at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Worthington Christian is facing Whitehall-Yearling at the right time seeing as Whitehall-Yearling is stuck on an 11-game losing streak. As for Tree of Life Christian, they will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Delaware Christian at 7:30 p.m. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Delaware Christian has won three straight at home, while Tree of Life Christian won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
