Volleyball Game Preview: Springfield Blue Devils vs. Steele Comets

The Springfield Blue Devils will face off against the Steele Comets at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Springfield will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Springfield is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Everything went their way against Copley as they made off with a 3-0 win.

One reason for the win was Springfield's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-15, 25-13.

Among those leading the charge was Tristan Geske, who had ten digs and one assist. That's the most digs he has posted since back in April.

Meanwhile, Steele narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Howland 3-2.

Springfield better keep an eye on Hector Mendez. He was instrumental in Steele's win, getting 24 assists. Mendez is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 13 or more in each of the last four games he's played. Evan Thomson also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assists of the season.

Steele was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in 11 consecutive matchups.

Springfield's win bumped their record up to 16-6. As for Steele, their victory bumped their record up to 17-7.
