Soccer Recap: Yorktown Takes a Loss

Yorktown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 9-0 to the Guerin Catholic Golden Eagles. While losing is never fun, Yorktown can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana soccer rankings (they are ranked 242nd, while Guerin Catholic are ranked 13th).

Yorktown's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Guerin Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Yorktown wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next match, a 5-0 defeat against Marion on the 30th. As for Guerin Catholic, they will square off against West Lafayette at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
