Basketball Recap: Wallkill Comes Up Short

Wallkill was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a hard 63-47 fall against the Spackenkill Spartans. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 71-45 to them when the teams met back in February of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

When it comes to explaining why Wallkill lost, don't look at Alex Marshall. Despite the final result, he went 9-for-21 to rack up 24 points. That's the most points Marshall has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of George Avila, who scored nine points and seven rebounds.

Wallkill's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Spackenkill, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.

Wallkill didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 84-43 loss against Our Lady of Lourdes on the 7th. As for Spackenkill, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 65-54 defeat against Marlboro Central on the 7th.
