Jason Kinscy and Kj Jackson secure win for Ellenville

Recap: Ellenville Blue Devils vs. Roosevelt Presidents

The Ellenville Blue Devils entered their tilt with the Roosevelt Presidents with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Ellenville sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 50-47 win over Roosevelt on Wednesday. Given Ellenville's advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while Roosevelt is ranked 562nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ellenville was led to victory by Jason Kinscy and Kj Jackson. Kinscy dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 assists, while Jackson scored 21 points along with six rebounds. It was the first time this season that Kinscy posted eight or more assists. Another player making a difference was Dylan Nero, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.

Ellenville's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-1. As for Roosevelt, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.

Ellenville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 86-63 win vs. Mount Academy on the 9th. Roosevelt will head out on the road to face off against Haldane at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Haldane has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 526 points over their last eight games.
