University's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Belton Tigers 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Trojans have posted since February 21st.

University has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Belton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-15-1.

University and Belton should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings. The Trojans will take on Ellison at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (325 vs. 1041). Meanwhile, Belton (ranked 242nd) will meet Chaparral (ranked 608th) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
