Preview: Centennial Eagles vs. Treasure Coast Titans
Centennial is 8-2 against Treasure Coast since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Centennial Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Treasure Coast Titans at 6:00 p.m. One thing working in Centennial's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matchups.
Last Wednesday, Centennial strolled past Palm Beach Lakes with points to spare, taking the game 57-41.
Jada Parson and Jailyn Williams were among the main playmakers for Centennial as the former scored 17 points along with 9 rebounds and the latter scored 20 points along with 6 rebounds and 5 steals. The contest was Williams' fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Arianna Knapp, who scored 9 points.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Treasure Coast's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of Martin County by a score of 33-31. While losing is never fun, Treasure Coast can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 119th, while Martin County is ranked 21st).
Despite their defeat, Treasure Coast saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Ariel Horne, who scored 11 points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Jade Ware, who scored 7 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Their wins bumped Centennial to 3-1 and Palm Beach Lakes to 3-3.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Centennial hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 56.2 points per game. It's a different story for Treasure Coast, though, as they've been averaging only 34.7 per game. The only thing between Centennial and another offensive beatdown is Treasure Coast. Will they be able to keep them contained? Come back here after the game to get analysis of the match and other basketball content.
Centennial beat Treasure Coast 45-38 in their previous meeting back in January. Does Centennial have another victory up their sleeve, or will Treasure Coast turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
