Softball Recap: Bishop McLaughlin Catholic Takes a Loss

Bishop McLaughlin Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 21-2 to the Hernando Leopards. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Leopards this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-0 back in February.

Sophie Sanchez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-2. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Ariana Montero also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Bishop McLaughlin Catholic's record is now 0-6. As for Hernando, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Looking ahead, Bishop McLaughlin Catholic will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Wildwood at 6:30 p.m. Wildwood has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 20.33 runs per game on average), something Bishop McLaughlin Catholic will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Hernando, they will head out to square off against Academy at the Lakes at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
