Softball Recap: Bethesda Christian's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Wednesday

Bethesda Christian dropped their record down to 4-5 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell 6-1 to the Ben Davis Giants. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Patriots couldn't push the score so high this time.

As for Ben Davis, they now have a winning record of 5-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for they.

For Ben Davis' part, Hannah Waltermire made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Waltermire has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Riley Gilliland was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Jaela Prezzy, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
