Flag Football Game Preview: Basic Wolves vs. Arbor View Aggies

The Basic Wolves will face off against the Arbor View Aggies at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Basic's offense hasn't had much luck over their past ten matchups, but Friday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Wednesday, Basic was beaten by Southeast Career Tech 37-7.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Arbor View). They took their game on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 60-7 win over Foothill. The result was nothing new for the Aggies, who have now won 15 matchups by 22 points or more so far this season.

Basic better keep an eye on Danielle Morales. She was instrumental in Arbor View's win, rushing for 83 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 carries, while also picking up 42 receiving yards. Morales also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making five total tackles and defending two passes. Elyce Phillinganes also helped out with an impressive 82 receiving yards.

Arbor View didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Karah Foss and Camryn Carvell. Carvell is on a roll when it comes to interceptions, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. She got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Arbor View pushed their record up to 16-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 4.8 points on average over those games. As for Basic, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.

Basic got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 against Arbor View by a conclusive 26-6 score. Do the Wolves have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Aggies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
