Volleyball Recap: Berea-Midpark Comes Up Short

Berea-Midpark lost against Avon back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Titans lost 3-0 to the Eagles.

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-13, 25-17.

When it comes to explaining why Berea-Midpark lost, don't look at Sophia Serrano. Despite the final result, she had 21 assists and 11 digs. Serrano is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 15 or more in each of the last six games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklyn Kovatch, who had six kills.

Leading Avon to victory were Madison Demmerle and Ally Brediger. Demmerle had three digs and two aces, while Brediger had nine digs and two aces. Those two aces gave Demmerle a new career-high.

Berea-Midpark now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Avon, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Berea-Midpark has already played their next contest, a 3-2 loss against North Ridgeville on the 28th. As for Avon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Midview on the 28th.
