Basketball Recap: Heritage Christian Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Heritage Christian can now relate to. The contest between the Heritage Christian Defenders and the Calumet Christian Patriots didn't end well, with the Heritage Christian Defenders falling 44-26. The Defenders have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Loss or not, Heritage Christian got some senior leadership from Nicole Lenting and Sydney Lenting. Nicole posted seven points and four steals, while Sydney put up four points along with ten boards and seven steals. Nicole is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Calumet Christian found their leader in sophomore Makenna Landkrohn, who went 6-for-15 on her way to 14 points in addition to eight assists and seven steals. That's the most steals Landkrohn has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Anna Prim, who dropped a double-double with ten points and 13 rebounds.

Heritage Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 10-15. As for Calumet Christian, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-6.

As of now, neither Heritage Christian nor Calumet Christian have any future games scheduled.
