Basketball Recap: Franklin Monroe Comes Up Short

Franklin Monroe came up into this matchup off a tough 58-point defeat last Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Preble Shawnee Arrows by a score of 33-30 on Thursday. The Jets just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Preble Shawnee can attribute much of their success to Aubrey Unger, who posted 15 points along with six boards and five steals. Unger is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Josie Mondello-Garrett, who earned four points along with nine steals and eight boards.

Franklin Monroe's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Preble Shawnee, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.

Franklin Monroe didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 49-42 victory against Randolph Southern on the 21st. As for Preble Shawnee, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 31-24 loss against National Trail on the 21st.
