The St. Augustine Saints will challenge the Santa Fe Christian Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
St. Augustine is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. Everything went their way against Grossmont as they made off with a 45-20 victory. The Saints' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Paisios Polamalu continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 263 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 9.4 yards per carry, and also picking up 67 receiving yards and one score. He was no stranger to the big play, connecting on a big catch that went for 67 yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: St. Augustine was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 345 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

St. Augustine didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Polamalu and Austin Lambeth. Polamalu also punched in five rushing touchdowns, which is notable because St. Augustine is 5-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 0-5 otherwise.
Meanwhile, Santa Fe Christian put another one in the bag last Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down Bishop's 28-9. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 105th, while the Knights are ranked 242nd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Santa Fe Christian's win came from a few key players St. Augustine will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Lincoln Mundis, who rushed for 70 yards and one TD. Those 70 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Dax Labrum, who threw for 202 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Santa Fe Christian's defense and their eight sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Cole Hajjar and Everett Kerkhoff, who racked up four sacks between them. Hajjar also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with 13.
St. Augustine's record is now 5-6. As for Santa Fe Christian, their record now sits at 10-0.
