Basketball Game Preview: Hermon Hawks vs. Old Town Coyotes

Hermon hasn't had much luck against Old Town recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Hermon Hawks will face off against the Old Town Coyotes at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Hermon took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They took down Mount Desert Island 64-46. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Hawks as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Old Town beat John Bapst Memorial 68-58 on Tuesday.

Old Town has also been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-7 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.8 points per game. As for Hermon, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.

Hermon couldn't quite finish off Old Town in their previous meeting on January 4th and fell 42-40. Can Hermon avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
