Softball Recap: Unaka Comes Up Short

After flying high against University School last Tuesday, Unaka came back down to earth. Unaka came up short against the Elizabethton Fighting Cyclones on Wednesday, falling 25-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Rangers in their meetings with the Fighting Cyclones: they've now lost three in a row.

Unaka saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Katlyn Dugger, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Unaka's loss dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Elizabethton, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

Looking ahead, Unaka will square off against Happy Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Unaka is facing Happy Valley at the right time seeing as Happy Valley is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Elizabethton, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-4 victory against Gate City on the 21st.
