Basketball Recap: Evanston Extends Home Winning Streak to 11

Evanston entered their tilt with New Trier on Tuesday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They took down the New Trier Trevians 54-35. Given the Wildkits' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Trevians are ranked 40th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Evanston's win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.5 points over those games. As for New Trier, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 19-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Evanston will venture away from home to square off against Maine South at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for New Trier, they will head out on the road to take on Glenbrook South at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
