Softball Recap: Bearden Bulldogs vs. Farragut Admirals

Bearden was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 13-2 to the Farragut Admirals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Admirals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-4 back in March.

Bearden saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Megan Lawson, who scored a run while going 1-for-2. Lawson also hit a double, marking her first of the season.

Bearden's loss dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Farragut, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 13 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Bearden will challenge rival Hardin Valley Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Farragut is set to square off against their familiar foe William Blount at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Admirals 2.9, the Governors 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
