Soccer Recap: Permian Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

After flying high against Odessa last Tuesday, Permian came back down to earth. The Permian Panthers fell just short of the San Angelo Central Bobcats by a score of 2-1 on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Panthers came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Bobcats are ranked 203rd).

Permian's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those five matches. As for San Angelo Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-8.

Coming up, Permian will face off against Midland Legacy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Permian is facing Midland Legacy at the right time seeing as Midland Legacy is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for San Angelo Central, they will challenge Midland at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
