Softball Recap: Hornell Comes Up Short

Hornell lost to Midlakes back in April of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Red Raiders fell just short of the Screaming Eagles by a score of 5-4.

Allisa Haley made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. Those runs were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Lyla Dyring, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Hornell dropped their record down to 4-14 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Midlakes, their victory ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-11.

Hornell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Midlakes, they will take on Wayland-Cohocton at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
