Soccer Recap: Gresham Community Takes a Loss

Gresham Community was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Columbus Catholic Dons, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, Gresham Community can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin soccer rankings (they are ranked 276th, while Columbus Catholic are ranked 74th).

Gresham Community's defeat dropped their record down to 0-16-1. As for Columbus Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-2-2 record this season.

Gresham Community will venture away from home to challenge Amherst at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Gresham Community will need to watch out since Amherst have now posted at least four goals in their last three matches. As for Columbus Catholic, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-0 win against Bowler/Gresham Community on the 8th.
