There's no place like home for Cumberland, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They came out on top against the Arcola Purple Riders by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. The Pirates were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Purple Riders, so the Pirates were just returning the favor.

While Cumberland won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-19.

Madelyn McElravy paced Cumberland's offense, picking up five kills. McElravy got some help from Alysa Dittamore and her nine assists. MacKenzie Claybaugh controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Cumberland's win bumped their record up to 9-12-1. As for Arcola, their loss was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-16.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cumberland will host Farina South Central at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Arcola, they will be playing at home against Judah Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
