On Tuesday, Niobrara/Verdigre had to suffer through a rough 60-23 loss at the hands of West Holt. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Niobrara/Verdigre in their matchups with West Holt: they've now lost six in a row.
Meanwhile, Boyd County didn't have too much breathing room in their match against St. Mary's on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 50-44 victory. The win was all the more spectacular given Boyd County's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 209th, while St. Mary's is ranked 78th).
Derris Hansen continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 22 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. He hasn't dropped below 16 points for four straight games. Hudson Hoffman was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with five rebounds.
Niobrara/Verdigre's loss was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Boyd County, their win bumped their record up to 7-10.
